By now you all know Gunnar and Inga are telling another chapter of their story in Supernatural Chronicles: The Asgardians. (I am so excited to share it with you . . . so very soon!!) But first, another of our #Dynamis authors is sharing the story of her Necromancers! Morgan Wylie is here to tell us all about her journey, and what you can expect from her latest read!
What would you be doing right now if you were not an author?
Well, possibly a couple different things: I use to be a real estate agent and managed our rental properties with my husband, and at another time I was the floral coordinator for a Hobby Lobby store and did some of that as well as interior painting on the side. So I imagine something along those lines.
What were you doing five years ago?
Let’s see, my daughter was 1 and I was blessed to be a stay at home mama at that time. I was also working on my first novel Silent Orchids.
Do you have a certain writing ritual?
Hmm, well I try but it usually ends up happening in a few different ways. I do have a home office that I try to work in, but if everyone is home (which is often) then I usually write at a coffee shop. I have a certain couple tables/seats that I work best at (I’m a creature of habit, I guess ;) I usually like to have Twizzler Pull ‘n Peels at my beckon call, but alas I’m trying to cut my sugar, lol. And music is a must have! I love my fingerless writing gloves as well—they keep my fingers warm and limber ;)
What has been the toughest criticism given to you as an author?
I think all criticism is tough. I try to take it all in stride and then be open to what can help me grow as an author.
Ever fangirled over another author? Who was it?
I got to meet Cassandra Clare once and get her autograph, that was pretty cool, but I think all authors are amazing!
Is there an author you’d like to meet?
Oh I LOVE meeting all authors! But of course, I would love and probably fangirl a bit if I could meet JK Rowling. There are tons of authors I would love to meet: Kelley Armstrong, Julie Kagawa, Patricia Briggs and so many more!
Biggest writing pet peeve?
Hmm… when I write or spell things wrong I know how to spell or punctuation I KNOW how to use properly, but then make stupid mistakes.
Do you read other’s reviews of your books?
Yes, I actually do—not all, I’m sure I’ve missed some, but I do try to read them when I can. I can’t promise I always will, but for now I do.
**The Necromancers is the seventh novella in the Supernatural Chronicles: New Orleans Collection. The complete boxed set to be released in January 2016.**
Hailey Devareaux, an inexperienced Necromancer with a fear of death, couldn’t care less what the world had to offer her. A year after her mother’s death, Hailey has lost interest in being a Necromancer and taking over as rightful leader of the clan. When her clan receives a cryptic letter, it’s up to Hailey to go on a dangerous quest to restore the veil and save her people.
While moping around in the cemetery the day after the Day of the Dead, Hailey met Bobby; if only she had realized he was dead before she started talking to him. Robert “Bobby” Duval died one year ago. When he died, the veil between this world and the next was at its thinnest. It should’ve been easy for him to cross over, but something kept him from doing so, and now, he’s stuck. With a promise to help Bobby cross over after she has fulfilled her mission, Bobby joins Hailey, and together they begin to understand her powers.
Will Hailey give up her bitterness against the craft and her own fear of death, and forgive herself in order to embrace her power? Will she be able to help save the supernatural community by sealing the veil once more?

Morgan Wylie published her first novel, Silent Orchids, one year after moving across the country with her family on a journey of new discovery. After an amazing three years in Nashville, TN and the release of two more books, Morgan and her family found their way back to the Northwest where they now reside. Still working everyday with great optimism, Morgan continues to embrace all things: “Mama”, wife, teacher, and mediator to the many voices and muses constantly chattering in her head… where it gets pretty loud!
