It’s the end of an era, and my heart is absurdly, ridiculously, unbelievably full. I cannot believe the Skywalker Saga is at its end. To have been a part of this world, both as a fan and an author, has been one of the biggest surprises and greatest joys of my life. Because
Star Wars people are just GOOD PEOPLE.
From the 501st, to the creatives, to the talent, to the fans who sleep in convention center basements to catch glimpses of previews. (Miss you, friends!!) From the Rebel Legion and the Saber Guild, to the people you meet in grocery store lines who overhear your conversation and jump in with their own thoughts on the appropriate viewing order of the films (I firmly stand by Ep IV, V, VI, I, II, III, VII, VIII, IX – though this is by no means the order of my FAVORITES. Ep V holds that title. Because, Hoth.). To the kids who will talk for hours about everything they love (and don’t!) about each and every episode, television program, comic and story. There’s so much love within the Star Wars Family, and it is beautiful. ❤️
I am so thankful to have gotten to be a part of this world. And I was beyond honored to attend the world premiere of Episode IX. It was a night filled with joy and hope and SO MUCH LOVE. Thank you, Star Wars, for impacting so many lives in so many ways. Thank you for the friendships you’ve blessed me with, the creative opportunities you’ve gifted me, and most importantly, for showing the world strength, hope, and love that can come from a found-family. We all find our tribes in different ways. And I’m honored to be a part of yours. ❤️
(Yes this is Frank Oz. Yes, I cried a little. Okay, a lot. IT’S FRANK OZ!)
